Before I tried to build a boat that was big enough to sleep on I built a small sailboat called a Medway Doble by Selway Fisher design I bought the plans years ago but didn’t get round to building one. I sailed the boat off Haverigg then launched at Lytham and sailed up the Ribble to Preston. It was a great feeling to have sailed from one place to another in boat I had built myself it made me more determined to build a bigger boat for bigger adventures.
